Paloma Picasso

How are your listening skills today?

“Because I was so quiet, my father let me spend hours and hours next to him while he would sketch. Everyone else was always asking things from him. I wasn’t asking anything. I was just happy to be there.” ~ Paloma Picasso ~ yes that Picasso

Ray Stannard Baker

Strive today to say so more often and not have the regret Ray spoke of.

“Looking back, I have this to regret, that too often when I loved, I did not say so.” ~ Ray Stannard Baker

I love you

Leonardo da Vinci

Today kicks off World Creativity and Innovation Week on the birthdate of Leonardo da Vinci. Born 15 April in 1452 Leonardo da Vinci set the world on fire with his creativity.

I am revisiting a great book Da Vinci and the 40 Answers by Mark Fox during World Creativity and Innovation Week.

“Iron rusts from disuse; water loses its purity from stagnation… even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci

What actions might you take this week?

Rudyard Kipling

If you can dream and not make dreams your master;
If you can think and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster;
And treat those two imposters just the same,

If you can force your heart, and nerve, and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone;
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the will which says to them, “Hold on,”

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the earth and everything that’s in it,
And, what is more, you’ll be a man, my son.

Émile Coué

If you persuade yourself that you can do a certain thing, provided this thing be possible, you will do it, however difficult it may be. If, on the contrary, you imagine that you cannot do the simplest thing in the world, it is impossible for you to do it, and molehills become for you unscalable mountains.
